Panthers open with a win

CULVER, Minn— The South Ridge Panther Girls Basketball team started a new season with new coaches and a new system last night as they took home the win over Lake Superior Christian Academy 74-37.

The Panthers were led by Senior Mikayla Olesiak with 15 points, followed by Junior Krystal Karppinen with 14 points and 8 steals. Senior Justice Janke and Junior Lindsey Janke each added 11 points and 6 steals. Sophomore RyAnna Anvid ended the night with 6 points, Junior Gracelynn Otis added 5, and Sophomore Rileigh Port and 8th Grader Celia Olesiak each had 4 points. All the Panther players scored as Morgan Cherne and Courtney Palmi each had a basket.

The Panthers will take on Northeast Range next on Monday at home, game time is 4:45 p.m.
