East Central Throttles McGregor

The East Central Eagles throttled the McGregor Mercuries on Tuesday night, opening their season up with a 77-54 victory.

The Mercuries got out to the 36-34 lead at half, but the Eagles came storming back to dominate the Mercs, outscoring them 43-18 in the 2nd half to secure the win.

East Central was led by Vincent Sewell who scored 18 points. Cayman Audie followed with 16 and Traivon Lee added 13 points. Also scoring for the Eagles was Casey Sura who scored 9, Nate Ecklund, Demetri Nordgaard, and Stephon Buckanan who each had 5 a piece, Connor Gafkjen added 4, and Austin Pederson topped it off with 2.

In the loss for McGregor, Jordan Mickelson scored 17 points. Cole Gelhar and Billy Staska added 11 a piece, Auston Anderson and Carson Passer scored 7 each, and Josh Benjamin had 1.

East Central is 1-0 to begin the season and will search for another victory on December 2nd against Hinckley-Finlayson. McGregor drops to 1-1 and will be back in action on December 2nd against Hill City.
