Wrens top Toppers

The Wrenshall Wrens started their 2014-2015 season with a win Monday night over the Duluth Marshal Hilltoppers by a score of 54-48. The Wrens started fast Monday with  a balanced scoring attack the Wrens managed a 6-8 point lead throughout the first half.

The Hilltoppers cut the lead at halftime to 2 points at 24-22 when Cloe Brashaw hit two 3-pointers down the stretch of the first half. The Wrens came out fast in the second half scoring the first 13 points of the second half to secure that the Wrens would open with a win to start the season.

Brashaw continued to keep the Toppers close as he finished with a game high 27 points. The Wrens used balanced scoring with Andrew Frank leading the Wrens with 15 points, Aaron Adkins ended with 14 and it was Jesse Ellerbe who finished with 13 on the night. The Wrens also made it a victory as well for returning alumni as former Wrens Basketball players had returned to celebrate the start of the season, with the oldest returner was from the class of 1942.
