Gilbert’s Hat Trick Leads Mirage

Jillayne Gilbert scored the natural hat-trick in the first period and Amy Lemenager stopped all 24 shots she faced as the Proctor-Hermantown Mirage shutout Litchfield Dassel-CoKato 8-0 to remain unbeaten in this early season.

Gilbert’s hat trick came in the first period as she scored all three Mirage goals in the period to take a 3-0 lead after one period. Karie Lenard added two second period goals as the Mirage would score five in the second period to seal the win for the Mirage.

Sophie McGovern, Katie McKinzie, and Emma Olson also scored as part of the five goal outburst as the Mirage move to 5-0 overall on the season. Gilbert added a assist on the McKinzie goal for a 4 point afternoon, while Lenard, McGovern, Olson, and Brielle Larson all had two point in the victory.

The Mirage will be back in action on Tuesday at the Proctor Ice Arena where they will face Princeton-Big Lake-Becker in a non conference match up.
