Thunder Men & Women Fall

The Thunder Men’s & Women’s basketball teams kicked off their seasons today in Virginia MN, against Rainy River Community College.

In Women’s action, The Thunder battled through a tough game that saw 8 lead changes, before Rainy River put it away in the final minutes by a score of 66-58. Freshman Jaiden Cofiled led the Thunder with 17 points, while pulling down 15 rebounds, and dishing out 6 assists. Da’Rnay Sandlin added 14 points and 8 rebounds, and Drewrez Budreau scored 11 points and had 7 rebounds.

In the men’s game, Rainy River defeated FDLTCC by a score of 87-75. Leading scorers for the Thunder include DeAndre Bell with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Kevin Gutter and Donald Gordon with 14 points each.

The Thunder take the floor in Virginia again Saturday afternoon. The women take on Hibbing Community College at 11am, and the men play University of Wisconsin Barron County at 1pm.
