DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women’s hockey team lost its first game of the season against St. Norbert College by a score of 4-3 at Mars Lakeview Arena on Friday night. 

The Green Knights were the first to score in Friday’s game. Jillian Kosteck scored for St. Norbert just over five minutes into the game. Before the Saints could answer, Allie Patrick scored a goal to put the Green Knights up by two. Nikki Logergren scored to answer back for the Saints just over 18 minutes into the first period. She was assisted by Kaitlyn Johnston. The first period ended with St. Norbert up 2-1.

The Saints got a quick first goal of the second period with a power play score by Sierra Hanowski. She was assisted by Johnston for her second assist of the night and Logergren also chipped in an assist on the goal that tied the game up. Katie Conlon scored for the Green Knights later in the period to put them up 3-2l. Lauren Roethlisberge scored a short handed goal very late in the period for theSt. Norbert to gain a two-goal lead.

Hanowski scored her second goal of the night, the lone goal of the third period,  that put the Saints within one goal of the Green Knights. St. Norbert’s goalie Leigh Grall had 28 saves while allowing three goals to the Saints. Scholastica’s goalkeeper Lindsey Hartfiel had 15 saves while allowing four goals in the loss.

St. Norbert College improves its overall record to 3-2 and 1-2 in the conference while St. Scholastica falls to 4-1 overall and in the conference.
