Moose Lake-Willow River (8-1) vs. Crosby-Ironton (9-0)
7 pm at Public Schools Stadium, Duluth
Coming off a 44-21 win over Eveleth-Gilbert in last Saturday, the Rebels, led by running backs Bryceton Butkiewicz (832 yds, 12 TD’s), David Moonen (823 yds, 16 TD’s) and quarterback Brad Fossom (728 passing yds, 8 Td’s) are looking for their 9th straight state tournament appearance tonight versus Crosby-Ironton.
The Crosby-Ironton Rangers cruised to a 58-18 win over Mesabi East in their semi final game last week and will be trying to get to the state tournament for the first time in school history. The Rangers have a strong running game led by the trio of Jake Larson (1223 yds), Daniel Hudrik (711 yds) and Noah Gindorff (632 yds).
These two did not play each other this season, but not only are they evenly matched statistically with both teams averaging 38 points per game while giving up 20, they are the number 1 (MLWR) and 2 ranked teams in the state according to the QRF (Quality Results Formula) system used by minnesotascores.net.

7AAA
Esko (7-2) vs. Two Harbors (8-2)
7 pm at Malosky Stadium, UM-Duluth
The Esko Eskomos are coming of a 35-12 win over Duluth Marshall last Saturday and are looking to regain their section title after losing to Proctor in the finals last season. Eskos Jaxson Turner ran for 180 yds and 4 scores against Marshall and leads the way with 982 yds and 10 TD’s this season.
Only two years out from a 0-9 season, Two Harbors turned the tables on Proctor in the semi finals winning 20-12 after Proctor knocked them out of the playoffs a season ago. Two Harbors will look to running backs Lucas Kempffer with 1062 yds and 11 TD’s and Kyler Kinn (973 yds, 12 TD’s) to try and run past Esko for their first state tournament since 1977.
Esko beat the Agates 36-14 back in September, but these two are pretty evenly matched with Esko scoring 30 a game and allowing 18, while Proctor is put up 32 a night and gave up only 10
