Thunder Fall in MCAC Playoffs

Jake Faber threw two touchdown passes and ran one in from one yard out to start the game against Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College Thunder fell to the Central Lakes Raiders 48-7 in MCAC playoff action Saturday afternoon in Brainerd.

Faber threw for 181 yards in the victory as the top seeded Raiders advance to the semifinals of the MCAC Playoffs. The Raider opened up a 21 point lead before the Thunder would score their lone touchdown of the game when Jordan Morris caught a 16 yard touchdown pass from Travis Brown which cut the lead to 14 at 21-7.

The Raiders then scored the last 27 points as they picked up the victory and they will host Minnesota State Fergus Falls next Saturday. The Raiders were aided by 5 Thunder turnovers on the afternoon, including 3 fumbles and two interceptions. Brown finished 12-25 passing for 115 yards and one touchdown.

The Thunder who were behind from the get go could never get a ground game going as they finished with only 47 yards rushing on 40 carries. Damon Barnes had 6 receptions for 54 yards for the Thunder.

The Thunder finish the season with an overall record of 3-6, while the Raiders remain unbeaten with a 9-0 overall record.
