Agates Move On

Ricky Hietala and Lucas Kempffer each ran for two touchdowns as the Agates amassed over 261 yards on the ground to open the section 7AAA playoffs at home Tuesday night. The Agates Hietala scored the first touchdown of the game on a 35 yard touchdown run to put the Agates in front 7-0. International Falls scored later in the first quarter but that was as close as they came as the Agates reeled off the next 28 points to pick up the section victory.

Kempffer scored his first touchdown on a 4 yard touchdown run which was the only scoring of the second quarter which put the Agates out in front 14-6 at halftime. It was Hietala and Kempffer each adding touchdown runs in the third quarter and it was Tim Bott who also scored the games final touchdown to make it a 29 point victory.

The Agates improve to 7-2 on the season and they will host the Proctor Rails in the section 7AAA semifinals Saturday afternoon at Two Harbors High School.  The Broncos end their season with a record of 0-9.
