Polar League Boys Shine at Pride of the North

Seven Polar League players took part in the Coca-Cola Pride of the North All-Star game at Mesabi Community College on Thursday night. In a Game where 250 points were scored, the Red All-Stars from the Iron Range downed the Duluth Area White All-Stars 146-104.

Steven Golobich dropped 24 points in the second half as he led his Red All-Stars to a win in Thursday night’s Coca-Cola Pride of the North Boys All-Star Game at Mesabi Range College. The Mountain Iron-Buhl senior knocked down six three-pointers on the game, pulled down 11 rebounds and had four assists to go with four steals in picking up MVP honors for the game.

Michael Carlson of Duluth Marshall, Fordes Lodin of Two Harbors and Joey Bohaty of Moose Lake-Willow River provided the outside shooting to keep the White All-Stars close, while only having seven players being able to compete. Nate Zuk of Moose Lake- Willow River and Kenny Schofield but did not compete but were named to the team.

There was no shortage of offense on the Mesabi Range College floor as the teams hoisted up a combined 227 field goal attempts, which included 76 three-pointers.

Michael Carlson led the Duluth Area All Stars with 22 points, Joey Bohaty who had 18, Fordes Lodin 16, Erik Johnson and Ben Del Greco each added 15, Sammy Warren 14, followed him, and Jamie Stokes finished with 4.

Steve Golobich led the Red All Stars with 34, Jared Sutherland and Nate Howard each had 19, Justin Kangas & Will Jackson both added 18, Taylor Skoglund 16, Matt Holmstrom 7, Aaron Skoglund 6, Wes Lorence 5, and Joe Vuicich finished with 4.
