7A Volleyball Starts Monday

The section 7A volleyball tournament begins Monday at 8 different locations as the sectional tournament begins in the northland.

Top seeded South Ridge and Hill City all by byes in the sectional first round, as do the second seeds Carlton and Mesabi East. Cromwell, Northeast Ranges, Cook County, and Mt. Iron-Buhl also received first round byes in the tournament.

Teams in action Monday night will have Lakeview Christian playing at McGregor with the winner to meet South Ridge Wednesday night.

Fond du Lac will play at Wrenshall and the winner will meet Cook County, Northland plays at Silver Bay and the best team there will meet up against the defending section champion Carlton Bulldogs.

Barnum travels to Floodwood and that winner will play at Cromwell on Wednesday. Other match-ups Monday include Ely at Deer River ( Northeast Range), Nashwauk-Keewatin at Cherry (Mesabi East), Bigfork is at Littlefork Big Falls (MIB), and Chisholm plays at Northwoods (Hill City).

The second round will be played at top seeds home site on Wednesday night and the quarterfinals will be played on Friday October 24th also ay the top seeded team home gym.

The section semi-finals will be played Tuesday October 28th in Grand Rapids and the Section Finals are slated for Duluth Denfeld on Saturday November 1st at 4:00 pm.
