Saint Women Stop Crown

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica Saints women’s soccer team defeated Crown College Friday night by a final score of 5-0 behind a balanced attack seeing four different Saints scorers plus an own goal against Crown.

CSS got the scoring started very early in the game with Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) notching the first goal of the game just 1:36 in putting the Saints up 1-0.

Kehtel’s goal was followed about 25 minutes later when Crown scored a goal against themselves 25:44 into the first half setting the score at 2-0 Saints.

CSS would score their third goal just 1:46 later when Jalyn Britton (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) put the ball home with the assist going to Hamm.  The first half would end at CSS 3 Crown 0.

The second half saw a lot of back and forth effort where there was no scoring until late in the period when Hamm scored with just 2:01 to play.

Bacso scored her goal just one second before the final whistle blew at the 89:59 mark in the game with Alex Miller (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Totino Grace HS ) getting the assist to set the final score at CSS 5 Crown 0.

CSS (8-6-1, 8-0-1 UMAC) will next be in action Saturday when they travel to Mankato to take on Bethany Lutheran College with that game set to kick off at 5:15 p.m
