ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica men’s soccer bagged another conference win Friday night with its shutout victory over Crown College in St. Bonifacius with a final score of 7-0.

The men’s soccer team has been cruising through conference play, adding another win to their record to make it 9-0 on the season so far. The Saints defeated Crown earlier this season in Duluth by a score of 4-0, but that didn’t stop them from over-looking their opponent the second time.

In the fourth minute of the game, Tom CorcoranTom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) found the back of the net and the Saints kept going. They tacked on three more goals before the end of the half, with two of them coming from Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) (one off of a penalty kick) and the last one coming in the 41st minute mark by Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School).

As he started off the first half with a goal four minutes in, Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) did the same thing to start the second half, scoring in the 49th minute of play to make it 5-0 CSS. After a bit of a back and forth battle after that, Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) stole the spotlight. Morgan scored two more goals to secure the hat trick and the win for the Saints.

Ben Cullen

Ben Cullen (Clough, Northern Ireland/Shimna Integrated College) was the leading assist man for the Saints with two, while Corcoran recorded one.

Jacob Ballheimer

Jacob Ballheimer (Gerrards Cross, England/Chalfonts Community College) played all 90 minutes to record his ninth shutout on the season, while recording two saves on the night. Tanner Fisher of Crown faced more of a difficult night, as there were 16 shots on goal, as he saved nine of the 16.

The Saints (12-2, 9-0 UMAC) look to make it 10-0 in the UMAC tomorrow as they take on Bethan Lutheran at 3 p.m. in Mankato, Minn.
