The Wrenshall Wrens saw their chance to finish 7-1 for the season slip through their hands as the Mustangs from Keliher-Northome as they bested the Wrenshall Wrens 12-7 Wednesday night at Kuntson Athletic Field.

Three times Wednesday night the Wrens saw long passes slip through receivers finger tips which would have resulted in a touchdown for the home Wrens.

The Wrens Luke Vine did connect on one long range bomb as he hit Hunter Pauly for a 60 yard touchdown which gave Wrenshall a 7-6 leave at halftime.

The Mustangs returned the second half kickoff down to the Wrens two yard line which set up the game winning score on a pass to Adrian Pink. Both Teams finish the regular season with 6-2 records and await their opponent in the section playoffs. The Wrens out gained the Mustangs as they finished with 268 yards of offense while Keliher-Northome ended with 141 total yards of offense.
