COLFAX, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men’s cross country team placed 18th at the annual UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invite meet on Friday totaling 522 points.

Luke McKenzie (Taylors Falls, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) topped the list of Saints runners finishing 64th overall with a time of 26:40.5 while teammate Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) finished just four seconds behind him with a time of 26:44.3.

Jacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) came in next for CSS finishing 176th with a time of 27:53.0.  He was followed by Tim Dunstan (Dollar Bay, Mich./Dollar Bay HS) who placed 240th finishing with a mark of 28:39.9.

Josh Trosen (Hackensack, Minn./Nevis HS), Victor Pilon (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), and Adam Wallenta (Eagan, Minn./Farmington HS) rounded out the bottom three for the Saints finishing 280th, 288th and 295th respectively.

St. Olaf took home the victory with three top 10 finishers while host team UW-Eau Claire took second as a team with their worst finisher placing just 22nd overall. St. Olaf tallied 48 total places while UW-Eau Claire lost by just the slimmest margin at 52 total places.

CSS will next race in Winneconne, Wisconsin when they run at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational meet on Saturday, October 18th with the race set to start at 10:30 a.m.

COLFAX, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women’s cross country team finished 13th out of 24 teams Friday at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invite.

Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS), Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS), and Liz Braml (Turtle Lake, Wis./Turtle Lake HS) rounded out the top three for CSS. Gibson finished with a time of 23:47.4 which was good enough for 52nd overall, Mogren finished just behind Gibson in 56th at 23:58.2, and Braml placed 65th with a time of 24:32.9.

Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) and Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) came in the next two places for the Saints with Johnson finishing with a time of 24:30.9 and Hovland with a time 25:03.6.

Molly Burgstahler (Sandpoint, Idaho/Sandpoint HS) and Heidi Carlson (Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) rounded out the bottom two finishers for CSS finishing 112th and 116th overall out of the 409 total runners on the day.

Carleton College stole the show in the meet finishing 56 total places ahead of second place finisher St. Olaf.  Carleton had two top five finishers and five top 20 finishers while St. Olaf had two runners place in the top 10.

CSS will next race in the St. Bonifacius invite in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota and at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational on Saturday, October 18th.
