Wilderness Sweep Ice Dogs

The Minnesota Wilderness improved to 5-1 Saturday night as the Wilderness swept the Fairbanks Ice Dogs with a 5-3 victory at home.

The Wilderness saw Tobias Bjorklund score two goals and add one assist in the two goal victory.

Minnesota jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Tyler Cline scored his fourth goal of this early season only 53 seconds into the first period. Fairbanks tied the game later in the period and it was a 1-1 tie after one period.

Bjorklund scored the next two goals of the contest to put the Wilderness in front by a score of 3-1. His first goal was the only scoring in the second period, and his second occurred early in the third period.

Robb Stautz made it 4-1 in favor of the Wilderness  at the 6:03 mark of the period and Darian Romanko scored his first goal of the season later in the period which made it a 5-2 game at that point as the Wilderness picked up the two goal win at home.

Robb Anderson picked up this third win of the season in nets for the Wilderness as he stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced. The Wilderness again out shot the Ice Dogs 36-32. The Wilderness will be home next Saturday night when they will host the Minnesota Magicians at Northwoods Credit Union Arena.
