Rails top Virginia

  Proctor improved to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Sea Range Conference on Friday night with a 28-14 road win over the Virginia Blue Devils in high school football.
  Tanner Haedrich got the Rails on the board in the first quarter with a nifty five-yard touchdown run, but Proctor wasn’t able to get the conversion points and led it 6-0.  Virginia matched the Proctor score with one of their own when Parker Davis bulled in from the one-yard line in the second quarter that evened the score at 6-6 after a failed conversion attempt.  Proctor took the lead for good in the late stages of the first half when Jack Chalstrom slashed his way to the end zone from 34 yards away and Jake Malec added the two-point conversion to make the score 14-6 at halftime.
  The only score of the third quarter came from Malec who crashed in from the five-yard line to make it 21-6 after Haedrich tacked on the extra point kick and that’s how it stood after three quarters.
  Proctor’s Travis Carlson caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Malec to begin fourth quarter scoring and Haedrich booted the extra point to make it 28-6 in favor of the Rails.  Virginia closed out the scoring for the game with a Connor Cusick to Sam Koch 45-yard touchdown pass and catch and a two point conversion rum from Cusick.
