CULVER- The South Ridge Panthers coming off a loss last week were looking to rebound with a big win over Mountain Iron-Buhl by a score of 42-28. The Panthers who struggled offensively a week ago took the opening drive and marched right down the field and Reid Clark put the Panthers in front as he scored on a 2 yard touchdown plunge.

With the Panthers leading 8-0 the Rangers responded on the ensuing kick-off when the Rangers Jaylon Holmes scored on a 84 yard kickoff return to cut the lead to 8-6. With the Panthers forced to punt on their next possession, the Rangers were looking to respond by a bad snap over quarterback Archie Winans head into the end zone was recovered by Dane McCelland for the Panthers second touchdown of the game.

Moving to the second quarter the Panthers extended their lead to 20-6 when Zach Johnson connected with Kaleb Dallman on a 59 yard touchdown pass with 8 minutes left in the half. South Ridge scored again before the break when Johnson threw his second touchdown pass of the game this time it was a 5 yard pass to Austin Miller and the Panthers took a 28-6 lead into halftime.

The Rangers came out strong int he second half as they cut the margin to 28-20 following a 1 yard touchdown by Archie Winans, and a 65 yard touchdown pass from Winans to Billy Gellerstedt. With the momentum in favor of the Rangers it was Zach Johnson who responded for the Panthers as he scored on a 78 yard kickoff return to put the Panthers in front 34-20 after three quarters.

Zach Johnson threw his third touchdown of the game with 3:55 left in the fourth quarter to McCelland from 12 yards out to make it 42-20 in favor of South Ridge. Jaylon Holmes scored late to make the final score 42-28. The Panthers improve to 4-1 on the season and they will face Chisholm next Friday night in Chisholm. MIB falls to 2-3 and they will host Bigfork next Friday night.
