Duluth Marshall scored two late second half goals and then hung on for a 3-2 victory over Esko in girls soccer on Thursday night in Duluth.

Esko’s Jordyn Sein gave the Eskmos a lead just 11 minutes into the first half with a goal that was assisted by Alexis Smalley. However, the Hilltoppers evened the score when the Eskomos scored an own goal into their own net in the 33rd minute.

The Eskomos were able to regain their one goal edge when Mandi Dincau notched a tally in the 37th minute of the first half making it 2-1 Esko at halftime.

The Hilltoppers comeback started in the 53rd minute when Kelly Alworth scored on an assist from Megan Coughlan. Alworth gave the Hilltoppers the lead for good in the 79th minute with Coughlan adding her second assist of the game.

Macy Sunnarborg made 15 saves on 18 shots for Esko, but it wasn’t enough to offset the nine saves on 11 shots for the Hilltoppers.
