Wrenshall Beats Floodwood In 5

The Wrenshall Wrens and Floodwood Polar Bears found themselves in an intense Polar League matchup on Thursday night. The game would go into 5 matches, with Floodwood grabbing the 1st match, 26-24, Wrenshall responding by winning match 2 26-24, and Floodwood getting the 2 matches to 1 advantage by grabbing match 3, 26-24. The Wrens then rallied off two consecutive match wins by scores of 25-21 and 15-7 to secure the victory.

Delaney Kittle had 17 set assists for the Wrens and Chloe Swanson followed with 13 set assists, but also racked up 13 kills and 5 ace serves. Tatum Swanson had 13 digs, 12 kills, and 6 blocks, and Shana Laveau tallied 14 kills in the win for the Wrens.

In the loss for Floodwood, both Marissa Johnson and Amanda Baker tallied 9 kills, Brenna Salo racked up 32 set assists, and Honna Hendrickson had 7 ace serves and 22 digs.

The Wrens improve to 5-6 with the victory and will look for another win on September 23rd when they play the Silver Bay Mariners. The Polar Bears dropped to 3-8 on the year and will look to bounce back in a tournament on September 20th in Chisholm.
