Lakeview Christian Academy’s Bjorn Broman has commited to Winthrop University. Broman, who played AAU basketball for Howard Pulley this summer, tweeted on August 31st his commitment to Division 1 Winthrop, saying “Blessed to announce I have committed to Winthrop University”.

Broman visited Winthrop over the weekend and decided it was the correct fit for him . Winthrop, which is in South Carolina, is apart of the Big South Conference. Winthrop narrowly missed the NCAA Tournament last season after falling in their conference championship game. They went 20-13 last season and had Broman as one of their top targets out of the 2015 recruiting class.

Bjorn will be heading into his Senior season after averaging close to 40 points per game a season ago and leading the Nation in scoring. Bjorn is on pace to break the state assists record, just 174 shy of tying it going into the senior year. Broman has piled up over 2,000 points in his varsity career and also has well over 1,000 assists.

All of us at NSO would like to congratulate Bjorn on his commitment and wish him luck during his Senior season and in his future with the Winthrop Eagles program.
