Cromwell Shuts Out Hill City

The Cromwell Cardinals kicked off their season on Friday night on the road against Hill City. The Cardinals enjoyed their trip back after shutting down the Hornets, 36-0.

The Cardinals took a 28-0 lead into halftime after a pair of connections from QB Zion Smith to Austin Pfisthner. The first touchdown came from a 43 yard connection and the second was a 65 yard TD. Tyler Hakamaki punched two short runs in the end zone before the half to propel them to the 28-0 lead.

In the 2nd half, the Cardinals were held to just one touchdown, which came in the 3rd quarter when Tyler Hakamaki trucked his way 62 yards to get his 3rd TD on the evening. The Cardinals capped their scoring off when Cy Sworski got the safety to give the Cardinals the 36-0 victory to start the year.

The Cardinals improve to 1-0 on the season and will look for another victory when they play 9-man powerhouse, Kelliher/Northome (1-0) at home on September 5th. The game will kick off at 7:00 PM.
