CEC Tennis tops Hibbing

The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls tennis team fell 4-3 to the Hibbing Blue Jackets on Tuesday, but the real story is that the Jacks performed well against one of the top teams in the area.

Rosalie Lundquist continued a strong spring by taking a #1 singles win over Jordan Hyduke  7-6 ( 8-6) and 6-2.  CEC also got a big win at #2 doubles when Abbey Wangen and Courtney Ketola downed Katie Marschak and Hannah Wetland 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).  The other big win for CEC came at #2 doubles when Lexi Robideaux and Hailey Martin took a 6-3, 7-5 decision over Cassie Butler and Maddy Warner.

The Blue Jacks notched wins at #2 singles when Molly Scipioni beat Kail Kadelbach, at #3 singles when Sara Hoag downed McKenzie Ketola and Maria Valentini defeated Nora Waldorf.

Hibbing also got a doubles win from Katelyn Mari and Lilly Deweltz who beat the CEC team of Annika Hammitt and Ally Martin.

CEC will play at Superior today.
