Fall sports are closing in, and one of those main sports is soccer. Many teams from the Northland are looking forward to the upcoming year, and NSO will give you a closer look into some of those teams.

The Hermantown Hawks will look to defend their Section 7A crown this season. The Hawks made the trip to State last season after posting a 12-7-2 record. After graduating 4 players, the Hawks will rely on a large Senior and Junior group to help them make their second consecutive trip to State. The Hawks open up their season on August 22nd when they host Providence Academy.

The C-E-C Lumberjacks will also look to have a competitive season after posting a 10-6-1 record. The Lumberjacks will return 6 Seniors from last years team and a large group of Juniors to lead the way. The Lumberjacks open their season up at home against the Rochester Lourdes on August 22nd.

Duluth Marshall will look to better their 9-9 record from last season. It will not be a small task, however, as the Hilltoppers graduated 9 seniors from last years team. They will open their season up against  Benilde-St. Margarets at home on August 21st.

Rounding out Section 7A is the Duluth Denfeld Hunters who will look to bounce back from their 5-12-1 record a year ago. Graduating 9 seniors, the Hunters will rely on a large group of Seniors and Juniors, as they have 6 players in each grade. They will open their season up on August 21st at home against Cambridge-Isanti.
