Hermantown girls tennis started practice Monday, with veteran co-head coaches Jessica Rich and Kelly Cooke.

They return two all conference players, seniors and co-captains in singles player Madilyn Miller and doubles player Mariah Ruhanen.

Additionally, the Hawks return senior letter winners Elizabeth Carlson, Molly Eng, and Rebecca Henningsen. The Hawks also return underclass letter winners Stephanie Collins, Jordan Cuva, and Bailey O’Connell.

The Lady Hawks open their season August 19th in  a quad match with section 7AA Cambridge and North Branch.  They return the next day for tough matches at the Duluth Central courts to play Section 7AA Champion Duluth East and Section 7A powerhouse and conference opponent Duluth Marshall.

The Hermantown girls have over 20 athletes out for the team and seem confident in another winning season, even with playing tough section 7AA competition along with a rigorous Lake Superior Conference schedule.
