Run Like an Animal 5K Winners

 

DULUTH, Minn.— Two hundred and eleven people turned out on this beautiful Saturday morning to “Run Like an Animal” for the Lake Superior Zoo.

First Place- David Hyopponen, Duluth

Second Place- Jerry Cherra, Duluth

Third Place- Jacob Stanley, Duluth

First Place- Kate McCloud, Duluth

Second Place- Regan Hefner, Plattsmouth, NE

Third Place- Veronica Witikko, Hermantown

 

 

Many participants chose to run in animal-themed costumes. The Best Costume Award went to Lydia Rich of Duluth who was dressed like a jellyfish.  Second place went to John Kaufman of Hermantown who was dressed like an ostrich.  Third place was Sandra Rich of Duluth who was dressed like a tyrannosaurus rex.

Run Like and Animal was sponsored by Anytime Fitness, Coca Cola, and Shake It and Tortoise and Hare Footwear. All proceeds from this event benefit the zoo.

The Lake Superior Zoo was formed in 1923. Its mission is to provide close-up animal experiences that inspire wildlife connections and conservation action in our region and around the world.
