Moline Captures Arrowhead

Dan Moline captured the 2014 Arrowhead Invitational Sunday at Ridgeview Country Club in Duluth as Moline defeated Paul Anderson 4 & 3 in match play on a wet Sunday afternoon.

Moline started match play on Saturday with a quarterfinal victory over Jared Chartier by a 4 & 3 margin. The win over Chartier set up a semifinal match with Brian Moores.

Moores defeated Trent Sundbom 1 up 19 to advance to the semifinals. Sundbom had won the Cloquet Invitational two weeks ago by one shot over Moores.

Paul Anderson defeated Mark Anderson 3 & 2 in another semifinal match up, and it was Taylor Sundbom beating Mike Abrahamson 1 up to advance to the semifinals.

In the semifinals that began Early Sunday morning it was Moline and Moores battling away the same as they did two weeks ago both playing in the final grouping of the Cloquet Invitational.

It was a nip and tuck match with Moline finally coming away with a 1 up 20 over Moores, to move into the finals Sunday afternoon. Paul Anderson bested Sundbom 2 & 1 to set up a championship match up with Moline.

The Championship was Moline’s as he managed the course perfectly and saw it end after the 15th hole as Moline captured the title with a 4 & 3 victory.
