Huskies lose late lead, fall to Waterloo

(Duluth, MN) —The Huskies losing streak stretched to five with another disappointing collapse in the ninth inning. Despite a two-run lead as late as the eighth inning, the Huskies fell to the Waterloo Bucks on Friday night, 7-6.

Austen Christensen had two hits and scored two runs to pace the Huskies on a night where they only tallied six total hits. Dom Brugnoni had one hit, one RBI, and scored two runs, Alex Greene had one each of a hit, walk, RBI, and run scored, and Keach Ballards’ two RBI came from a big double in the sixth that gave the team a momentary lead. Sean Poppen provided three innings of relief while allowing two hits and one run.

With the long home stand over, the Huskies travel to Green Bay for a two game set, Thunder Bay for one, and Rochester for two before coming home on the fourth of July
