Huskies put it all together, beat MoonDogs
(Duluth, MN) — The Huskies didn’t let last night’s late breakdown effect them on the field today, and strong pitching, hitting and fielding led to a 6-4 win over the visiting Mankato MoonDogs to salvage a split in the two game series.
Keach Ballard stole the show offensively, picking up three hits, two RBI, and two runs. Vinny Rodriguez had one hit and two RBI, Trent Chatterton had one hit and two runs scored out of the second spot, and Brent Urabe had one hit and an RBI. Patrick McGrath was solid through six innings on the mound, only allowing two runs while striking out two. Josh McLaney threw two hitless innings in relief.
The Thunder Bay Border Cats will come to Duluth for a three game series tomorrow afternoon. Game one of a pair will start tomorrow at 12:05pm, with the second, separate game starting later that evening at 6:35pm.
