Cloquet 1st, 2nd In True Team Event

The Cloquet Lumberjacks finished 1st in the Boy’s True Team even and just fell short of 1st place in the Girl’s True Team event as they placed 2nd, 3 points behind 1st places North Branch.

In the Boy’s events, Cloquet’s Richmond Seju finished 1st in the 100 meter dash and the Long Jump. Seju also placed 2nd in the 200 meter dash.

Isaac Boedigheimer had a couple of 2nd place finishes for Cloquet, placing in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Cloquet also took home the 4×800 Meter Relay.

Other local winners included Duluth Denfeld’s Connor Behm in the 200 meter dash, Cal Beaudot from Esko won the High Jump, Zach Smith of Proctor took home first place in the 3200 meter run.

Colton Peterson of South Ridge won the triple jump, and it was Hermantown winning the 4 x 200 meter relay.

For the Girl’s event, Cloquet’s Maija Doran finished 1st in the 100 meter dash. Michaela Sunnerborg finished 1st in the Discus throw for Cloquet as well, Also placing well for Cloquet was Anja Maijala who placed 2nd in the 3200 meter run and 3rd in the 1600 meter run.

Esko’s Hailey Salo finished 1st in the Shot Put and Kailee Kiminski placed 1st in the 800 meter. Esko finished 5th overall. Proctor’s Megan Sundstom was another local finisher as she won the 300 meter hurdles.

The winners will compete at the State True Track Meet May 24th and 25th in Stillwater.
