Wilderness force Game 4

Kasimir Kaskisuo stopped all 24 shots he faced Sunday night at Northwoods Credit Union Arena as the Wilderness prevented a three game sweep by Wenatchee in the first round series in the NAHL playoffs.

The Wilderness who were shutout Friday night 3-0, and Saturday they lost a heartbreaker by a score of 4-3, the Wilderness facing a uphill battle bounced back in a big way with the shutout victory Sunday.

Jaycob McCombs put the Wilderness in front in the first period as he scored at the 18:06 mark to give the Wilderness the 1-0 lead after the first period. Jakob Romo scored twice in the second period to give the Wilderness a 3-0 lead after two.

Then an empty net goal late in the third period sealed the Wilderness victory as Michael Covach scored the fourth goal of the contest.

The series now moves west to Wenatchee Washington next Friday night and Saturday if needed. The Wilderness will need to win two straight to capture the best of five series and advance in the playoffs.

The winner of the Wilderness and the Wild will face either Fairbanks or Kenai River, that series is tied at 1-1.
