FDL Blows by Wrenshall

The Ogichida of Fond du Lac continued on with their excellent season on Saturday as the Ogichida took down the Wrenshall Wrens by a score of 108-75 at Lincoln School in Hibbing in the section 7A quarterfinals.

The Ogichida jumped out fast building up an early lead using their speed and quickness  led by Davonte Williamson who scored 20 first half points, and Jordan Diver who added 12 in the first half.

The Wrens battled tough putting together strong runs in the first half to keep the game close, but 12 first half turnovers led to the Ogichida taking a 51-36 lead at the break.

The second half saw the Wrens battle back after FDL went ahead by 23 points the Wrens cut the lead to 12 at 64-52 but it was Jordan Diver who scored 10 of the next 12 points and the FDL run distanced themselves, not to be tested again in the second half.

Diver’s 22 second half points added with the 12 he scored in the first half led to 34 points and the games leading scorer. Williamson ended with 25 points for Fond du Lac, Trevonte Brown ended with 19 including six 3-pointers, and Cameron Thompson added 11.

The Wrens were led by Jarred Kittle who finished with 25 points for the Wrens, Aaron Adkins and Hunter Pauley both were the only other Wrens in double figures with 14 points.

Wrenshall ends their season with a record of 13-12 overall. The Ogichida improve to 22-3 on the season and they will face Bigfork in the section 7A semi-finals at Hibbing Memorial Arena on Wednesday night.
