Wrens top Broman Less Lions

The Wrenshall Wrens came from 11 points down Thursday night as the Wrens defeated the Lions of Lakeview Christian Academy by a score of 62-56 as the Wrens advance to the section 7A quarterfinals in Hibbing on Saturday.

Wrenshall who trailed 33-22 at halftime to the Lions slowly worked their way back into the game and claim the playoff win. The Lions who played without all state guard Bjorn Broman for all but 8 minutes of the contest now move on to face FDL.

Broman went up for a rebound off a missed shot from Wrenshall early in the first half, came down awkwardly and went directly to the floor in pain. Broman helped off the court did not return as he was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain.

Jarred Kittle scored 26 points to lead the second half comeback and the win for Wrenshall who fell earlier in the season to the Lions. Aaron Adkins was the only other Wren in double figures Thursday with 12 points.

Ben Ericson and Josh Klun tried to keep the Lions going without Broman; built up a first half lead of as many as thirteen points but could not sustain a sound second half offensive threat.

Both Ericson and Klun each finished with 14 points in the loss, and Broman finished with 8 points in his short time on the floor.
