Cardinals Fly Past Wrens

The Cromwell Cardinals topped the Wrenshall Wrens on Friday night, grabbing the close 76-70 victory.

At the half, Wrenshall lead the Cardinals 37-34 but the Cardinals battled back to outscore the Wrens 42-33 to grab the 76-70 victory.

Leading the Cardinals to the victory was Brandon Fairbanks with 21 points and Tyler Hakamaki with 18 points. Also scoring in the win was Zion Smith with 12 points, Austin Pfisthner with 11 points, Tristan Johnson added 6, Tyler Randall notched 5, and Carter Karppinen topped it off with 3 points.

In the loss for the Wrens, Jared Kittel scored 22 points and Aaron Adkins tallied 20. Also in the loss was Marcus Virginia with 15 points, Jessie Ellerbe added 8, and Dustin Shelton and Luke Vine rounded it out with 2 a piece.

With the win the Cardinals improved to 6-16 on the season and will play on the road against the South Ridge Panthers (18-3) on February 17th. The Wrens fall to 11-10 on the year and will play the Ely Timberwolves (22-1) on February 17th in Ely.
