FDL Soars Past Mesabi

The Fond du Lac Ogichida knocked off the Bulldogs of Mesabi Academy Wednesday night by a score of 109-40 at Fond du Lac High School in Cloquet.

The Ogichida started fast Wednesday night as they blew out to a 64-18 halftime lead and then cruised to the huge win at home. DaVonte Williamson led the Ogichida with 35 points as he had the crowd going with a series of tremendous dunks Wednesday night.

Trevonte Brown chipped in with 19 points, Dexter Delile added 17, Lester Williamson added 12 and Jordan Diver finished with 10 points. Cameron Thompson had 9 points, Devin Dupuis added 5 and it was Antonio Flores closed the scoring with 2 points.

Mesabi Academy finished with Marquayvious Putnam as their leading scorer as he finished with 16 points, and his teammate Richard Woodraska ended with 6 points.

The Ogichida improve to 18-3 on the season and they will be home Saturday afternoon when they will host Prairie Seeds Academy at Fond du Lac School.

The Bulldogs fall to 2-16 on the season and they will face Mountain Iron-Buhl Friday night at Mountain Iron High School.
