Marshall beats Wrenshall

The Duluth Marshall Lady Hilltoppers knocked off the Wrenshall Wrens in a non-conference match up Monday night at Wrenshall High School.

The Hilltoppers jumped out to a first half lead of 21-15 and pulled away in the second half as the finished up winning by 24 points.

Mary Baumgartner led Marshall with 17 points Maddie Eyer finished with 14, Taylor Mundy chipped in with 7, Rachel DeWitte added 6, and Anna Kleinschmidt and Meghan Matthews both had 4 points.

The Wrens were led by Shauna Laveau who ended with 8 points, her team mate Delaney Kittle added 7, Brittany O’Brien finished with 6, Cassie Wimmer scored 5 points in the loss for the Wrens.

Duluth Marshall improves to 8-10 on the season and they will host Hermantown Thursday night.

Wrenshall falls to 1-17 overall on the season and they will be in action again on Thursday night also when they will travel to Cromwell for face the Cardinals in a Polar League Conference game.
