For the second time this season Bjorn Broman has scored 60 points in a game. The first outing came on January 13th when the Lakeview Christian Academy Lions took on Cass Lake-Bena, where Broman tallied 65. Last night, Broman’s 61 point effort wouldn’t be enough as they fell to the North Woods Grizzlies in a shootout, 109-101.

The halftime saw these two teams notched at 42-42 but the Grizzlies would get the best of the Lions in a second half shootout, outscoring them 67-59 while on their way to getting the 109-101 victory.

Every player that scored for the Grizzlies hit double digits on the evening with Hank Halverson leading the way with 28 points. Cole Martin had an impressive evening with 23, Darnell Goggleye pitched in a nice 18 point effort, Travis Hooper notched 16, and Scott Rutar and Jay Strong each tallied 12 points in the win.

The Lions were lead by Bjorn Broman who tallied an impressive 61 points with 9 threes made and paired that with 8 assists in the game. The Lions wouldn’t see another player hit double digits as Josh Emerson and Josh Klun each scored 9, Marc Chiu and Ben Erickson each pitched in 8, Jack Norman added 4, and Mike Klun topped it off with 2.

The Grizzlies improve to 8-9 on the season, while sending the Lions to a 5-16 record. The Lions will look to bounce back against the Deer River Warriors (3-17) when they travel to play them on February 11th.
